Oh yes, I remember this fondly. (possibly cringing now in places) I was always a little disappointed when I read later Global Guardians adventures (90s JLI/JLE, I’m looking at you) when they were darker/edgier. (Believe that’s the same Godiva that taught me the British slang “Cor” — that and Beatriz’ “Sim” in one of her early Green Fury appearances. Learned the wrong way, I’m sure now, but it was intriguing as a kid.)Before I reread this issue, I had forgotten that pre-Crisis Godiva was basically a Green Lantern who used hair instead of light. PERFECT.

Garcia-Lopez draws easily my favorite Wonder Woman — so classic and beautiful. This was from the odd stretch during the late 1970s when Wonder Woman was set in WWII on Earth-2 because of the television series. That stretch of issues included a lot of Justice Society guest stars and old school villains, like the original Cheetah. (I’ve seen Garcia-Lopez a few times at Baltimore Comic Con and never had the nerve to say hello.)Jose Luis Garcia Lopez

To my knowledge, this storyline has never been collected. Very little of Wonder Woman’s 70s/80s pre-Crisis/Bronze Age era has been collected, aside from the occasional issue. This was notable as the arc right after Diana regains her powers after the mod-era, which has been collected in its entirety.
